CODE DIAGNOSIS TRIGGERED BY ASSOCIATED AREAS
1 NORMAL 'Check Engine' warning light will flash continously to show that the system is OK. NIL
12 RPM signal 1 [G1, G2, Ne]
When the +B drops below 11V after getting STA ON signals for over 2 seconds.
No G or Ne signals.
* Wirings and connectors (crankshaft position & starter signal systems)
* Distributor
* ECU
13 RPM signal 2 [Ne]
When no RPM signal (Ne) to the ECU for 0.05 seconds with engine speed above 1000 rpm following STA OFF, STA ON - OFF.
* Wirings and connectors (crankshaft position signal systems)
* Distributor
* ECU
14 Ignition signal [IGf]
When no IGf signals to the ECU for over 0.3 seconds after STA ON (No continuous 4 sparks for over 0.3 seconds).
* Wirings and connectors (igniter +B, IGf, IGt)
* ECU
16 ECT CPU When the gearbox management unit fails. * ECU
21 O2 sensor signal [Ox]
When the O2 sensor voltage crosses the 0.45V line and is leaning towards either 0.35V (lean) or 0.70V (rich) side for over 60 seconds while the coolant temperature is above 80 centigrade and the speed is below 100km/h.

[HT] (O2 sensor heater)
When no response from the O2 sensor heater or low output level for over 0.5 seconds.
* O2 sensor
* Fuel systems (injector, fuel pump)
* Ignition system (ignitor, plugs)
* Intake air system (airflow meter)
* ECU
22 Coolant temperature signal [THW, E2]
Whenever a short circuit or a circuit detachment in the coolant temperature sensor is detected for over 0.5 seconds.
* Wirings and connectors (coolant temp systems)
* Coolant temp sensor
* ECU
24 Intake air temperature signal [THA, E2]
Whenever a short circuit or a circuit detachment in the intake air temperature sensor is detected for over 0.5 seconds.
* Wirings and connectors (intake air systems)
* Intake air temp sensor (inside airflow meter)
* ECU
25 Lean error [Ox]
When no 'rich' signals were sent by the O2 sensor for over 90 seconds while the car is travelling at speeds under 100km/h with engine speed is above 1500 rpm with the coolant temprature above 50 centigrade.
* Wirings and connectors (O2 sensor)
* Fuel system (injector, fuel pressure)
* Ignition system (plugs, ignitor)
* Intake air system (airflow meter)
* O2 sensor
* ECU
* Coolant temp sensor
31 Airflow meter signal 1 [VS, VC, E2]
No signals from the airflow meter is detected for over 0.5 seconds while IDL ON and the engine speed is below 1500rpm.
* Wirings and connectors (airflow meter systems)
*Airflow meter
* ECU
32 Airflow meter signal 2 [VS, VC, E2]
No signals from the airflow meter is detected for over 0.5 seconds.
* Wirings and connectors (airflow meter systems)
*Airflow meter
* ECU
41 Throttle position sensor [VTA, VC, IDL, E2]
Whenever a short circuit or a circuit detachment in the throttle position sensor is detected for over 0.5 seconds.
* Wirings and connectors (throttle position systems)
* Throttle position sensor
* ECU
42 Speed sensor signal [SP1]
Vehicle with Manual gearbox:

When the speed sensor sent 0km/h signal to the ECU for more than 8 seconds while the engine speed is between 3000 rpm and 5000 rpm and the coolant temperature is over 80 centigrade.

Vehicle with Automatic gearbox:

When the speed sensor sent 0km/h signal to the ECU for more than 8 seconds while the engine speed is above 3000 rpm while the gear lever is positions other than 'P' or 'N'.
* Wirings and connectors (speed sensor systems)
* Speed sensor
* ECU
52 Knock sensor signal [KNK]
When a short circuit or a circuit detachment was detected in the knock sensor or its connectors while the engine speed is between 1600 rpm and 5200 rpm.
* Wirings and connectors (knock sensor systems)
* Knock sensor
* ECU
53 Knock management When the knock management part of the ECU fails while the engine speed is between 650 rpm and 5600 rpm.
* ECU
